Here are some tasks to perform after converting/migrating a Microsoft Virtual PC (VPC) to Hyper-V:
- Remove the old VPC virtual machine additions and reboot.
- Install the Hyper-V Integration Services (do not reboot).
- Start > Run: msconfig
- Boot tab, then Advanced Options
- Check Detect HAL
- Click OK twice to close the System Configuration window
- Reboot
Optional
First, take a snapshot of the VM. Then open an Administrative Command Prompt in the VM and run the following commands:
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 devmgmt.msc
In Device Manager, choose View > Show Hidden Devices, and then remove items that are greyed out (at your own risk).
